Over Land, Sea, and Air

I was inspired by the Dinotopia books and the pterodactyl races. I made my own dragon relay race, but I wanted it to be this arduous journey through many exotic environments - the kind where not everyone makes it.

At the Race's End - I really like the idea of a moving finish line.

This was my first pass, but the other painting brought you into the action in a much more direct way. Basically, I think it needed a foreground object.
